The Festival has a new venue for this year.
The City United Reformed Church, Windsor Place, Cardiff will host the Festival on the weekend of Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th and Monday 7th May in addition to our Gala Concert on the Saturday 19th May.
Many of you will have performed here previously at one of the SGFYM Gala Concerts.
This year the festival will be smaller than usual.
This means that we will be offering fewer classes and the number of places in each class will be limited.
So to avoid disappointment submit your ENTRIES EARLY.
N.B. Entries will be date stamped on arrival and dealt with on “a first come first served basis”
In the meantime, we are actively seeking new suitable premises and we are also going through an administrative reorganisation. We hope that you will continue to support us through these changes to ensure the future of your festival.
SGFYM is run by volunteers who have a common interest in providing a musical performance opportunity for young people in a safe and nurturing environment.
We are not all musicians and we would welcome some more help.
Please contact us by email: we always respond.

Rules - A Quick Reminder
- Concertos may be performed in all classes, with the exception of Recital classes, provided that they can be played within the time limit for that class. Concertos may not be performed in Recital classes.
- Competitors are permitted to enter a class in advance of their age. For example, as a junior you can enter the Intermediate or Senior classes. However, should you choose to do this, you cannot then enter the junior class. You are not permitted to enter more than one age category on the same instrument.
- You may enter either the Classical & Traditional Song Class OR the Songs of Theatre & Film Class. You may NOT enter both.
- Vocal ensembles should consist of between 2 and 10 members.
- Please adhere to the time limits allowed. The programming and adjudicators are scheduled precisely, therefore performers going over time MAY BE STOPPED without prejudice
- Please note: Entrants may not change their programmed piece of music from that stated on their Entry Form.
